Acoustic Wave Therapy
Acoustic Wave Therapy – Cellulite Treatment
Acoustic waves (also called sound, pressure or shock waves) have been shown to stimulate metabolic processes and improve connective tissue elasticity for cosmetic use in the treatment of cellulite, fat reduction and body contouring.
How does Acoustic Wave Therapy work?
Acoustic Wave Therapy treatment can be used to treat cellulite and to reshape the body, and can be combined with Cryotherapy or other treatments for dramatic results.
It stimulates the breakdown of fat cells, a process known as lipolysis, the production of new collagen, and lymphatic drainage. An applicator tip (or a probe) is passed over the treatment areas and acoustic waves are emitted through the skin at various intensities including radial or radiated waves or focused, high-energy waves. Different applicators are used depending on the type of acoustic energy being delivered.

How does Acoustic Wave Therapy work?
It accelerates the lymphatic flow in the body, enhances metabolic activity and stimulates fat breakdown. The oscillating acoustic wave energy breaks down the connective fibrous walls, which trap fat and toxins into lumps and bumps under the skin. The firmness of the epidermis increases and blood circulation in the tissue is significantly enhanced, strengthening the dermis and epidermis.
The Cellactor uses high-energy acoustic waves that are generated by means of two combinable therapy devices – planar and radial type applicators – which penetrate to different layers of the skin. The planar waves go deepest into the skin, with the radial waves having a more superficial effect. The force of the acoustic shockwaves shatters and destroys the cellulite-causing connective fibres. The waves break down the fibrous walls to release clogged fat, water and toxins. This process stimulates the nerves and increases blood flow to treated areas, which produces fresh, thicker bands of collagen, as well as stronger and smoother skin.
Which areas can be treated?
Acoustic Wave Therapy is most effective for treating the following areas:
- Front and backs of legs
- Backs of arms
When can I see the results?
Results are seen as quickly as 2 weeks after starting a course of Acoustic Wave Treatments, however in order to see the full results a course of treatments is required.
Is it painful?
Acoustic Wave Therapy is a non-invasive pain-free cellulite treatment.
